My Favorite Hobbies

Hobbies are fun activities that people have and enjoy doing in their free time. There are so many hobbies that people can have. The hobbies that people have help make their lives unique from one another because each and every person has different hobbies. Hobbies that are important to people are the ones that mean the most to them and that they have the most fun doing.

Some of my favorite hobbies are doing puzzles, drawing/coloring, and reading/writing. They give me time to relax. They also give me time to have fun and get more in touch with myself. These hobbies are fun for me because they are things that I really enjoy doing.

The puzzles that I enjoy doing are medium-sized puzzles (500 piece to 1,000 piece puzzles). I like puzzles that have bright colors, that have cute animals and that have pretty landscapes. I also like puzzles that are Disney themed and that are sports themed. Puzzles are fun to do because they help activate my brain!

Drawing and coloring are hobbies of mine that I have had for a long time, but recently, I have gotten back into it. It is so fun to be creative when drawing and coloring, and I enjoy using bright colors when I color and draw. I enjoy coloring pictures that are holiday-themed, that have quotes and that have animals. Coloring and drawing give me time to be artistic, and I really enjoy having an artistic side!

I have enjoyed reading and writing for a long time, although I am just now starting to get into reading again. Writing has been such a great avenue for me as I am starting my blog and writing career. Reading is also fun for me because it goes together with writing. I have always enjoyed reading romance novels, historical novels, and autobiographical novels. These two hobbies have really helped me figure out that journalism is something that I really enjoy doing!

I have other hobbies that I enjoy doing, but these are my all-time favorite hobbies. I will be writing about some of my other hobbies soon. I want my readers to get to know me, and I believe that you will get to know me more by reading this section of my blog!

My aunts bought me this puzzle for Christmas this last year, and I did it in January.
The puzzle is called “Christmas Delivery.” It is so cute. I enjoyed doing it because the dogs are so adorable!

Changing the Stigma

Many wheelchair users, like myself, understand that there is a stigma that able-bodied people have about them. The stigma is that we are not able to do normal things because we are not like able-bodied people. It is a shame that we have a stigma around us because it is just not true.

We can do normal things, even though how we do them may be different. There are many ways that people do things, and wheelchair users want others to see that our way of doing things is just as efficient, even though it may take a little longer.

I want to change the stigma around wheelchair users because it feels like a burden on each and every one of us. Being in a wheelchair should not have a stigma. It changes the dynamic of who we are as people, and it’s not fair at all.

We, as wheelchair users, are strong and resilient. Personally, I want to be strong and show people that wheelchair users can do many things because wheelchair users are people too, and that means we should be treated just like everyone else is treated. I am glad that I am a wheelchair user because I have always been excited to show people things that they do not always see. It makes me proud that I am the person that is showing them. I want to be a role model for wheelchair users because they shouldn’t be afraid of what people say about them.

My purpose of making this blog and sharing my story is to give others courage and motivation to change the stigma around wheelchair users!

My Life and Sports

Sports have been part of my life for a long time. I enjoy sports very much, and they are one of my hobbies. Watching sports and doing sports are so fun for me. I know that it may be unexpected to many people that someone who is disabled can be interested in sports. I know this because I have gotten many shocked expressions from lots of people that I have told in the past.

My favorite sports are ice hockey, baseball and American football. These sports are very entertaining to watch. Ice hockey is my number one favorite sport, baseball is my second favorite sport, and American football is my third favorite sport. These sports are very different from each other, and they all make me happy and excited.

Not only do I like watching sports, but I also like doing sports. I haven’t gotten to do sports in awhile, but I want to start back up soon. When I was younger, I was a sled hockey player, a disabled snow skier and a disabled water skier. Sled hockey is the disabled version of ice hockey, and it is so fun to play. Disabled snow skiing and disabled water skiing are also very fun to do, and they have been part of my life for a long time. I have been part of a local organization that puts on snow skiing and water skiing for people with disabilities, and the organization has really helped me become who I am!

Although I have not been involved with sports for awhile, I have been starting to get back into sports lately. I have been starting to work out at a gym, and I can’t wait to get stronger and healthier the more I do it! I want to start doing the sports I love again soon and maybe even new sports; that’s why I have started working out. I have started to enjoy working out a lot and want to start making changes in my life!

A picture of one of my recent trips snow skiing. I am in the sit ski, and one of the volunteers from the organization I go with is behind me! I haven’t been snow skiing in more than six years, but I want to get back to it next year! I love snow skiing so much! (Photo by one of the volunteers)
